About The Event

The University of Cambridge Centre of African Studies marks its 60th anniversary with the 2026 Lent Term Seminar series, “Thinking through Africa: Production, Performance, Practice.” As part of this series, Dr. Bamba Ndiaye, Assistant Professor of African Studies at Emory University, will deliver a lecture titled “Mobilizing Africa: Neo Pan-Africanism and the Politics of Online Resistance” on February 17, 2026.
This timely talk explores how digital platforms are reshaping Pan-African movements, highlighting the power and complexity of online spaces in driving political engagement, activism, and collective identity across the continent and diaspora. Held at the Alison Richard Building, the seminar invites scholars, students, and the public to engage in critical conversations on Africa’s evolving socio-political landscape.
